Following their acclaimed Community Staging of American Idiot, MTExperiments reframe the the Tony Award & Pulitzer Prize winning cultural phenomenon: RENT.
One of the world’s most renowned musicals, RENT is a pop cultural phenomenon exploring love, finding your voice & living for today. Based loosely on Puccini's La Boheme, RENT follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Reframed to a contemporary, socio-political environment, our staging explores the strength of community through this iconic tale of love and survival.
